I’m currently working towards a PhD in either math or applied math (they’re isomorphic programs) at UC Berkeley. I’m fascinated by the use of computers in mathematics, from experimental calculation to formal verification and automatic proof checking, and I enjoy exploring the intersection of pure math, applied math, and CS.
I also write code, volunteer (usually in public health and education), hike, camp, read history and philosophy, hold strong opinions about open-source software, and, when I’m very sure nobody’s looking, try to paddle a kayak without making an utter fool of myself.
(This is not easy.)
